Exchange Letter

Hello writers and artists who might be assigned to me in exchanges! Thank you for creating for me, I hope you have a good time in doing so.

DISLIKES/SQUICKS/DNWs

•	Scat - not my cup of tea. Enemas aren’t my kink, but I’m fine with them so long as you don’t focus on what comes out. Anything more toward scat kink than that, however, is not something I'd choose to read.
•	Spit kink - same as above. No spitting in someone’s mouth especially. If somebody spits on someone else as part of the narrative, though, that’s fine.
•	"Extreme Penetration" - if it’s not possible IRL, I usually don’t want to read it. There are exceptions! For example, if you create some sort of in-world explanation for why cervical/uterine penetration would be possible and pleasurable, I'd very into reading that. And I am happy to read intense forms of penetration that ARE possible IRL; if real-life humans can do it with practice and stretching, I'm happy reading about the same in fiction!
•	Kidfic - characters being 'baby crazy,' trying for a pregnancy, getting pregnant and keeping the pregnancy, or adopting are not things I want to read. I also do not want to read about non-canonical kids. I don't mind depictions of canonical parent & child relationships, though! One exception in which I'm happy to read about pregnancy: if it's someone’s new take on a canonical dad who didn't give birth to his child.
•	Unintended Pregnancy - I don't want to read this even in omegaverse scenarios. I am, however, happy to read about characters using contraceptives.
•	“Daddy” used in dirty talk purely as sexy nomenclature - I'm not into scenarios in which the characters just throw around the word “daddy” (or variants like papi). I’m into daddy kink because of the emotional dynamic, not just the word by itself, and situations in which one character just calls the other one "daddy" (or similar titles) without asking or negotiation tend to squick me.
•	Biological Essentialism - any AU or stories in which men/women/omegas/submissives/mutants/elves/any other group "just inherently want/feel/do certain things" will be a squick for me. I’m delighted to read stories about people experiencing heat/rut/strong biological responses, but for me there’s a difference between “this is something my body is doing” and “I’m automatically going to want/feel/do certain things because of a biological category I’m in.” So for example, an omega wanting sex they wouldn't normally want during heat because of their hormones is fine, but saying all omegas are naturally submissive squicks me. The same is true for stories featuring real-life biological categories, like saying all cis women are naturally submissive bottoms.
•	Modern Events - I don't want to read fics about current politics or coronavirus.

GENERAL PREFERENCES & SOME LIKES

•	Adult Content - I tend to prefer stories where there's some sex somewhere along the line, but this is not mandatory!
•	Stories where the stakes are emotional/interpersonal rather than featuring Big Epic Plots. Think Jane Austen's interpersonal stakes rather than the Lord of the Rings' life-and-death/world-ending stakes. A lot can happen between people that can be intense and emotionally monumental without it changing the world, and that’s the type of plot stakes I generally prefer. This isn’t to say I don’t like higher-stakes stories sometimes (I love LotR) but it’s safest to write interpersonal stories rather than epic stories for me!
•	Polyamory/Nonmonogamy - I love stories about polyamory and nonmonogamy. Mention of other background ships featuring the characters I requested won't bother me, and if you want to write me multiple requested ships in the same fic, I'll be delighted.
•	M/M content - I tend to prefer M/M ships and content overall.
•	M/F content - I'm only very rarely interested in stories about heterosexuality and normative heterosexuals - but that isn't the same thing as being wholly disinterested in M/F content, including sexual content. Getting into all the specifics of what the difference is would be tiresome, but to give you some examples of what I enjoy, I like bi characters in supportive relationships, bi-for-bi M/F relationships, pegging, femdom, and gender nonconforming men and women.
•	F/F content - I especially enjoy reading about butch women, stone dynamics, gender non-conforming women, and trans women. I'm always happy to read butch or trans takes (or butch trans takes!) on female characters. I'm also happy to read about femmes and femme identity, and the ways that's different from just being someone going along with cisnormative female gender expectations.
•	Trans, nonbinary, and/or intersex content - I sometimes greatly enjoy reading trans stories, but I do have some pretty strong squicks. I absolutely do not want to receive gifts including misgendering, forced feminizing of trans men/mascs or forced masculinization of trans women/femmes (but femme trans men and butch trans women are great), detransition, pregnancy/impregnation with trans characters, or strong themes of transphobia/prejudice toward trans people. And finally, I do not want trans misery porn; fics focused on trans misery and dysphoria are not for me. I am fine with dysphoria showing up in a fic that's about other things, but I don't want to receive fics where it's the focus of the narrative. (If there's a specific sex act you wanna write for me that isn't possible on a cis body and you don't wanna have to worry about all this, though, it fine to just write it into a multisex omegaverse AU. I enjoy omegaverse too!)
•	Neurodivergent headcanons - I'm delighted to read these if you want to write them!
•	Ace/Aro headcanons - I'm happy to read a-spec headcanons, so long as they are not being used as a way to say "here's why X character is unshippable". I'm happy to read about sex-repulsed characters, sex-neutral characters, and sex-favorable characters. I enjoy romance a lot, so aro takes on characters tend to be less my thing, but if you don't want to write romance for me, no worries! I'm happy to read fics about casual sex, friends with benefits, or queerplatonic relationships!
•	Fat Positivity - I’m happy to read fics in which characters view weight gain or no longer being thin as a sign of recovery/health, are fine with gaining weight, or are just fat. I’m happy to read characters enjoying body fat and fatness. This is not a fetish for me, though, and some of the ways fetish content for it gets worded or handled are squicky for me.

TROPES I ENJOY

•	Arranged Marriage/Political Marriage/Marriage of Convenience/Forced Marriage/Mail-order Spouse - These are some of my absolute favorite tropes. I love it when people have to navigate intimacy and boundaries and feelings with each other in the context of already being married - especially if they do fall in love in the end!
•	Fake Relationship - I enjoy scenarios in which characters are not supposed to develop feelings for each other or never had them before but are suddenly engaging in all this new intimacy with each other. I love seeing how those feelings develop and what changes their perspectives on one another!
•	Fix-It AUs - I enjoy some grimharsh canons, and for me that means I love fix-it fics too. If you wanna write a softer take on canon worldbuilding, canon events, or canon character outcomes, I’ll probably enjoy it.
•	Historical/Regency AUs - I love Jane Austen and stories of that genre. But, my interest is less in the Regency time period specifically and more about romances that feature social rules/regulations that make love and sex more difficult and confusing to navigate. So, while I will always adore a thoroughly-researched Regency AU featuring historical footnotes, I'll enjoy an ahistorical fantasy version of a Regency AU just as much.
•	Hurt/Comfort - I’m willing to read quite a lot of very severe hurt if there is an equal amount of comfort at the end. I’ll read some very grim fics about trauma if the fic also includes recovery, healing, and care.
•	Trauma Recovery - I love reading fics about how PTSD fades and softens with time and work.
•	Crack Treated Seriously - I enjoy cracky premises treated dead seriously. Some of my favorite fics of all time have been cracky premises treated seriously.
•	Friends to Lovers - I love stories about people who already know each other and are learning to see one another in a new way.
•	Enemies to Lovers/Enemies to Allies to Lovers - I love being convinced that people who have hated each other, hurt each other, or been on different sides of a conflict could come to understand, trust, and cherish each other. The formation of trust, the growing of understanding and empathy, and the earning of forgiveness are like catnip to me.
•	Redemption Arcs - I love to see a character who has fucked up and harmed people and who is learning to do better and be better. I’m not interested in either sacrifice stories, where someone "earns forgiveness" by destroying themselves, or stories where forgiveness is granted without effort. But I love seeing how someone would work to become a better person and move on from the harm they’ve done.
•	'Villainy Decaying' Arcs - Instead of redeeming a villain, show me a villain whose moral compass hasn't changed but who is grudgingly, grumpily becoming less horrible, either because they’ve fallen in love with someone who has a better moral compass, or because being bad has just gotten too boring or costly. Turn that villain into an angry wet cat who’s pissy and yowling but still going along with better morality, and I’ll be happy.
•	Humor - I love funny fics! I especially enjoy humor styles like Wodehouse and Pratchett, if that gives you any frame of reference, though those aren't the only approaches I like.
•	Monster/Alien/Non-human Love Interests - I love stories about nonhuman standards of beauty, non-normative attraction and desire, unusual courtship rituals, and meeting in the middle around huge cultural/physiological differences! Plus, I love the anatomical possibilities that open up, like tentacles, knots, spermatophores, or even wilder stuff!

KINKS I ENJOY

•	Omegaverse - I enjoy traditional alpha/beta/omega fics, but I really love unconventional takes on omegaverse. I love a lot of the traditional animal aspects like hormone cycles, heats/ruts, and knotting, but I also love worldbuilding around other alternative genitals, sexual fluidity, and nontraditional masculinity and femininity and gender roles. I also really enjoy stuff like courting jewelry and other cultural notions within omegaverse! HERE and HERE are two notable examples of unusual takes on omegaverse that I loved, if you're curious!
•	Male Lactation - I only want this on cis male characters, but I really enjoy fics about cis men adapting to the body changes of lactation, regardless of how they feel about the process.
•	Experience Gap - I love stories where one partner is very experienced and the other partner is innocent, naive, or just has never had the opportunity to try sex before, especially if the experienced partner then teaches their lover how to have sex or achieve orgasm. I’m into this in both consensual and noncon scenarios.
•	Age Difference - I’m here for big age gaps, projecting parental needs onto older partners, and fraught emotional dynamics because of different life experience levels.
•	Consensual Daddy Kink/Mommy Kink/Parental Kink Dynamics: what I really, really love here is the dynamic of one character being confident, self-assured, and experienced, and the other being naive, inexperienced, and/or uncertain. I love it when the "parental" partner is unflappable in the face of whatever their younger partner is feeling, and can comfortably and gently handle whatever fears, concerns, self-consciousness, inexperience, or reactions their partner is having. I especially love it when the "parental" partner feels emotionally satisfied by being the steady one who knows what they're doing and is in control, not out of an abusive desire to manipulate, but because they get comfort/safety out of having that kind of consensual control and competence with someone who wants that.
•	Forced Arousal/Forced Orgasm - in dubcon/noncon stories, I love narratives in which the person doesn’t want to be turned on or enjoying it but ends up helpless in the face of their own responses. I like "no, no...yes" and "I hate that I like this" scenes. I'm also into noncon stories in which the person being nonconned is like "Well I didn't want this but it's happening, so I might as well enjoy it".
•	No Homo - I love seeing men who’re holding the thinnest veneer of homosocial bonding over their torrid love affair. I love seeing men grappling with their own internalized homophobia in the face of their overwhelming desire, and hiding it behind some variant of No Homo. I love seeing men horrified to want and enjoy sex with men. I love seeing mental gymnastics like “we didn’t do genital penetration so it’s not gay” or “I topped so it's not gay” or "we didn't kiss so it's not gay." (I'm also very into this between women! That's often a different flavor of internalized homophobia, though, and I'm less sure of what the name for it would be)
•	Sex Pollen/Fuck Or Suffer Consequences/Something Made Them Do It - I enjoy scenarios where characters navigate situations of compromised consent in which nobody is at fault. I love the kinds of complicated consent which come from these scenarios. I also love scenarios in which, despite the pressure, people find ways to make the sex consensual and caring!
•	Size Difference - I’m into big/small pairings, sometimes all the way up to macro/micro pairings. I’m into size queens and people who like sizeable penetration, but I also like stories where someone has small genitals and everyone enjoys/kinks on that!
•	Cock Cages/Chastity Belts - the logistics of chastity belts can get kind of fraught sometimes, and I do have difficulty suspending disbelief on some scenarios that just fully ignore the everyday logistics, but I love chastity cages/belts on any gender or genital shape. If someone cannot get off because of their chastity device, or can’t get off in the way they want, I’m interested.
•	Castration/Nullification: I love reading about cis guys who have lost their cock, balls, or both, either voluntarily or against their will. I enjoy seeing how they adapt to the change, and if it causes them dysphoria or is actually kind of a relief.
•	Soft dicks - sex where people with penises have sex with their penis still soft is hot to me, including things like giving head to soft dicks or using vibrators on them.
•	Sadism/Masochism - it’s rare I see S/M as intense or as realistic as I enjoy reading. I’m into reading a lot of types of pain, including impact play, play piercings/needleplay, stress positions, spice play, and other variants. I’m not into things that would cause mutilation IRL, tho, or things involving bone damage, internal genital/anal perforation, tooth/gum damage, fingernail/toenail damage, or eye harm.
•	Age Play - I’m only into this in a consensual context, but I’m into both nonsexual forms of this as well as sexual ones. I especially love stories where ageplay is used for the purposes of positive reparenting, trauma healing, and emotional support. While I'm not enthusiastic about adult baby/diaper kink/wetting or related kinks, they're not a squick for me either.

If you've read all of this, thanks for your interest and commitment to creating something I'll enjoy!

comments

Holly Poly Exchange Dear Creator Letter

Hello creator!

I hope you're as excited about a polyamory-themed exchange as I am! Here's some ideas for the ships I've requested.

WITCHER SHIPS

Emhyr/Dettlaff/Regis: I know this is a cracky raretriad, but hear me out. Dettlaff is clearly a vampire with a lot of power, and Regis is clearly his husband, and Emhyr is nothing if not a pragmatist willing to do anything it takes to rule the whole continent. So what if he found out higher vampires exist, and went to make an alliance? He offers Dettlaff's tribe of vampires safety in exchange for help subduing the North? Or maybe it's nothing like that, and Emhyr retires to Toussaint, meets Dettlaff and Regis there, and grows enamored of one or more of the strange, idiosyncratic pair.

Dettlaff/Regis/Geralt(/Lambert/Eskel): look I love the vampire husbands and I love the Wolf witchers. Any way you wanna swing the vampire husbands hooking up with Geralt or any of the other Wolf witchers is gonna make me happy.

Emhyr/Eskel/Geralt or Emhyr/Eskel/Geralt/Lambert: maybe Emhyr's enemies try to delegitimize Ciri's rule by saying she was raised by the wolf witchers so she's technically EVERYBODY's daughter, so Emhyr has to make the wolves his consorts real quick to keep Ciri as his heir. Or maybe the suave, cunning emperor decides to make his retirement more fun by seducing the witchers of Corvo Bianco? Or does Emhyr have no game whatsoever when it comes to romance because he's only ever been with Pavetta before, and he has no idea what to do when two (or three) Witchers twice his age set out to seduce him? All options here are good ones. (Bonus points if Emhyr finds out that while Geralt loves sassing him, Lambert is a thousand times worse about this)

Geralt/Istredd/Yennefer: Istredd is a huge nerd who just wants to be allowed to be a huge nerd in peace, and I desperately want him to meet and fall in love with Geralt, who is also a huge nerd in his own way and knows how to treat a mage right. Yennefer is the chad in this triad. Whether Istredd and Yen stay broken up and it's just Geralt loving both of them in a V, or whether they're all in love together with Yen as their femdom is up to you, but I DESPERATELY want Geralt/Istredd to be a part of this triad

Geralt/Lambert/Eskel: they're all they've got left, and I think they at least fuck each other. Whether they're casual fuckbuddies with diehard brotherly love for each other as the last remaining members of their guild, or whether they're all in love, it's all good by me. Show me how this triad works and I'll be delighted.

Emhyr (Duny)/Geralt/Pavetta: so, in the show Mousesack asks Geralt to stay in the Cintran court to be with his Child Surprise. What if Geralt did just that? It doesn't have to be immediately, maybe he leaves and comes back some years later, but what if he DID stay? Maybe his way of making himself no threat to Calanthe or the Cintran court is by offering his services to the royal family. Maybe he offers to train both Pavetta and Ciri in combat and other skills? Maybe Emhyr/Duny is a blushing bisexual who's never been with a man before and is enamored by the pretty witcher who's helping his wife and daughter learn to protect themselves. Maybe Duny's well-meaning but kind of terrible in bed and Pavetta wants an experienced man to teach him how to please a woman better, only then Duny and Geralt kiss and Pavetta's really into that too! Maybe Duny and Pavetta bond over their embarrassing crush on Geralt, who has no clue until they hot-facedly proposition him? Or, hell, maybe this is an AU where Geralt was at the party but DIDN'T claim Ciri as his child surprise, and somehow ends up her godfather anyway just because Duny and Pavetta like him so much. I just want a happy threesome fix-it AU, however you wanna swing it.

Geralt/Renfri/Yennefer: so, instead of both Renfri and Geralt making Bad Choices in Blaviken, maybe Renfri tells Geralt up-front what she wants, hires him to help her instead of threatening to kill the local citizenry, and Geralt realizes what a raging creep Stregobor is and helps her kill him off, then later they both meet and fall in love with Yen together. Or maybe Renfri kills off Stregobor on her own and Geralt and Yen both meet Renfri later. Or maybe it's Yen that Renfri meets in Blaviken, and Yen has no compunctions whatsoever about getting her own revenge on Stregobor for tanking her early career! Hell, maybe Renfri actually IS a mutant in some internal way beyond just being immune to magic, and something about her anatomy gives Yen a way to get her reproductive tract back. Or maybe Renfri gets pregnant for Yen and they just have a baby together that way and Geralt is happy for them both and meets them once this has already happened. They're all good options! I just want a fix-it that makes sure Stregobor is dead as fuck, Renfri is alive, and Geralt doesn't wind up with another major trauma destroying his self-esteem.

Olgierd/Geralt/Wild Ones: this is the only one of the list that I want as pure smut. I'm not interested in Geralt having a relationship with any of these people. So, how about instead of a contract on the frog prince, Olgierd posts a truly salacious notice saying he's looking for dangerous nonhumans to fuck, especially witchers or vampires or something else really unusual and powerful. (He's immortal and bored, I'm sure he does things like this) Geralt sees this, figures, "Why not, I'm a slut, YOLO" and winds up having a massive gangbang with Olgierd and as many Wild Ones as you wanna write him with. I just want Geralt ridden hard and put away wet by a gang of amoral assholes in search of some fun!

Mousesack/Geralt/Jaskier: I just think Mousesack is hot, okay, and I'd love a fic that showcases that. Maybe Geralt and Jaskier are FWBs, and Mousesack pulls both Geralt and Jaskier at that feast either singly or together. Maybe both Geralt and Jaskier set out to seduce Mousesack, either singly or together! I just want both of them to bang Mousesack. Bonus points if you make this whole scenario a ridiculous comedy of errors and sluttery.

LITTLEWOOD SHIPS

Zana/Dalton/Ash: this is a himbo/herbo solidarity triad. They're all beefy, good-natured, and not super bright, and I love that for them. Maybe they all do pushups while sitting on each other's backs. Maybe they decide who tops that day by having arm-wrestling competitions. I just like this triad.

Hero of Solemn/Dark/Lilith: I just think they're meant to be! The Hero, the Dark Wizard, and the woman possessed by the thing that drove the Dark Wizard to madness? I want them to get the happily-ever-after they deserve.

Some bonus details that will make me happy:
- I enjoy all forms of nonmonogamy so long as everyone is upholding the relationship agreements. If you wanna write a group as friends with benefits, I love that. If you wanna make one of the characters ace and in love with one or more of the others, that's great too. If you wanna write a V-triad where two of the people involved don't know each other at all but they're both with the same person, that's fine. If it's a triad where they're all in love, also good!
- Dettlaff/Regis is one of my current fave autism/ADHD solidarity couples, so writing them as neurodivergent in some way (even if it's subtle) makes me happy
- the Wolves are solid wall-to-wall PTSD, so writing them as traumatized as they are pleases me
- I love a stroppy, bastardous Lambert who can't help mouthing off about everything. He's an asshole who loves pushing people's buttons on purpose and testing any limit he can find. He also adores Geralt and trusts Geralt's moral compass far more than his own, and will follow Geralt anywhere. Showing off both those facts in your writing will DELIGHT me
- nonbinary Lambert makes me happy
- I love childhood-friends-to-lovers Geralt/Eskel. Have they been pining for decades? Are they such an established couple they barely think of themselves as a couple anymore because they're just a fact of life? Either take is good, but I love them together
- I love all takes on Emhyr/Duny. If you want to soften him up from canon or show him as someone good who was corrupted by Vilgefortz and never wanted to be what he became, I'm into that. If you want him to be a manipulative mastermind, I like that too. If you want him to be an asshole who's done horrific things but was genuinely just trying to save the world the whole time, I'm here for that characterization too.
- I love stories that don't fix traumas quickly or easily. If you're writing a short fic, please don't feel pressured by this, but if the difficult things don't just resolve with a hug or a kiss or some cuddling, I'll be a happy recipient.
- I enjoy many kinks in fic, including many "hard" kinks, so long as they're generally things that are possible IRL. (this excludes things like tentacles and magical effects) I don't enjoy kinks like "all the way through" penetration or other anatomical impossibilities, as they're just body horror to me. If you have questions about a specific kink that isn't on my DNWs, leave me an anonymous comment to ask about it!
- I enjoy a lot of tropes and AUs, too, so long as they're not the ones in my DNWs. If you wanna write a magical modern AU, I'm into that. I enjoy A/B/O, wingfic, arranged marriage/marriage of convenience, and other tropes. If you've got questions about specifics, just leave me an anonymous question!

comments

Consent Issues Exchange Letter

Heya writer,

I hope you get to enjoy writing me something horrible! Here's some further info to help you write something I'll enjoy too.

First up, I'll just state: I'm trans. For me, that means I'm sensitive about "male/female" language applied to body parts and traits. I ask that you please don't do that in fic for me. For example, saying Geralt has a "musky, male smell" or a "broad-shouldered, masculine figure" is not gonna sit well with me, because I don't like hearing body parts or qualities referred to as somehow inherently male or female. Please try to be considerate about this, and get a second opinion if you're concerned about something you've written.

Specific to this exchange, I obviously enjoy some grim content or I wouldn't be here. But if you feel like writing aftercare, rescue, or recovery after the horrorshow, that'll just make me doubly happy. I love recovery and rescue fics SO much, so if you have ideas for that, awesome! Even if I haven't requested that in the prompt itself on AO3, feel free to add it if you're in the mood.

I'm also very interested in stories about unwilling arousal/orgasm and the guilt, confusion, and feelings of betrayal by one's own body that go with that.

What I find most interesting about grim topics like the ones in this exchange is the emotional content both during and afterward. If you want to write scenarios for their sexy content or for the whump, both of those things are great too, but I'm really here for the mental/emotional/psychological gymnastics and the ways people cope to get through this stuff.

Two specific kinks:
Castration/penectomy/genital mutilation of cis guys: I LOVE stories about castration/penectomy aftermath because I'm fascinated by narratives in which cis men are having to learn how to have sex without the parts cis men are expected to have. Difficulties with orgasm, nerve pain/sensitivity, having to figure out prostate stimulation for the first time, dysphoria, and managing to have fulfilling consensual sex despite all that are all things I love.

Monsters: I love non-human sex acts and monsters in general. I love wings, tentacles, knots, egg-laying/oviposition, and all sorts of other weird inhuman genitals.

If you have ideas for those kinks that aren't for ships that I listed in my request, leave me an anonymous comment here and I'll let you know if I'm okay with it!

comments

Five Figure Fanwork Exchange Letter

Dear fic writer,

I hope you get to write something you're excited about! I hope this letter will help you know more about me so you can create something we'll both really enjoy.

First up, I'll just state: I'm trans. For me, that means I'm sensitive about "male/female" language applied to body parts and traits. Please don't do this in your fic for me.

Related to this, while I love the idea of AUs in which characters are trans, I'm picky enough about how I feel comfortable with authors depicting trans people that it's probably best if you stay away from AUs of that type.

I also have preferences about m/f content! I feel sad and upset when I read fics that crap all over female characters and canonical m/f pairings in order to write m/m ships. M/M ships are what I chiefly enjoy and want to read, but not at the expense of female characters. So this means please do not have bad things happen to female characters as the background of your m/m fic for me, please don't write women as bad people (I realize this is complicated if you're writing me Witcher fic, because so many of the female characters canonically do fucked up things), and please don't imply that same-gender relationships are somehow better or more valid than m/f ones. If you want to write one or both of the men in the ship(s) as gay, that's great, but again, not at the expense of female characters or m/f relationships in general.

As for multiships, I love polyamory and nonmonogamy! I hate cheating and infidelity as a theme, though, so please do not include that. And while jealousy comes up for some people in nonmonogamous relationships, I don't really want stories about jealousy ruling/controlling everything. I love stories about people feeling discomfort/confusion in polyamory and then working through it together.

For the fandoms where I've requested a bunch of different ships with the same characters (like Witcher), I'm open to almost any combination of those characters that you feel like writing. So while I requested ships like Geralt/Dettlaff and Eskel/Emhyr, if you feel inspired to write a ship I haven't requested like Emhyr/Dettlaff/Eskel, I'd still be delighted to receive that.

As for content, I like both soft and romantic or smutty and hardcore, and especially fics that are a combination of both. I'm fine with kink content as well, including very "hard" kinks such as needleplay - except for the kinks I stated in my DNWs. If there's a kink you want to write which you're uncertain if I'll like, leave me an anonymous comment to ask about it.

Here are some tropes I really love:
- Arranged marriage/marriage of convenience turns into real love
- Non-normative A/B/O! I love A/B/O in which omegas are the socially powerful ones, or in which there are A/A or O/O pairings. I also love A/B/O where people have non-cisnormative genitals. For example, betas not having any external genitals at all, or omega men with what we might label vulvas, or alpha women with what we might label penises. I love it especially if certain anatomy/hormone combinations make it harder to reproduce, meaning alpha women don't usually get erections, and omega men have very low pregnancy rates.
- Historical AUs, especially Regency AUs! This would be pretty weird with most of the ships/canons I've requested, but I love Regency AUs so much I'll just throw this out there
- Mutual pining with a happy ending, especially friends-to-lovers or even enemies-to-allies-to-lovers.
- Externally-compromised consent that ends up ok - meaning things like sex pollen, going into heat, fuck-or-die curses, etc, where despite circumstances, one or both parties handles it with care and so it's not as traumatic as it could be
- Hurt/comfort. I enjoy "darkfic", so if you want to write something brutal and nasty that results in care and recovery afterward, I'd be delighted with that. I'm especially intrigued by narratives featuring the exploration and disproving of wrong beliefs based in trauma. For example, fics about a survivor who believes all relationships are inherently dangerous and exploitative having this proven wrong and shown that they CAN be safe and loved is A+++ to me. This includes mistaken/trauma-related beliefs about sex getting proven wrong. I don't mean healing cock fics, I mean things like characters believing sex is always painful and discovering that they can actually feel pleasure and have control during sex.
- Crack treated seriously. Authors who can just deadpan some bizarre AU that should be ridiculous (and maybe still is in theory) but treat it really seriously and just run with it have written some of my favorite fics.

Thanks in advance!
- Hobbit

comments

Darkest Night Exchange letter

Multifandom Horror Exchange Letter

Hello writer,

I hope you have a fun time writing me something spooky for this exchange! Here's some notes about what I like/don't like in this genre.

I love horror/dark fantasy of all kinds that play upon the idea that the while unknown can be frightening, huge, or overwhelming AT FIRST, once it's fully revealed or more time is spent with it, it's understandable and even sympathetic. This is especially true of my interest in both monsters and "Lovecraftian" horror. Lovecraft was a MASSIVE racist (even by the standards of his time, and he probably espoused a lot of other forms of bigotry too) and that's a big element of his work. To him, everything that wasn't white Christianity was unknowable, horrifying, and wrong. Like any reasonable person, I find his personal beliefs disgusting. So if you write me a story that uses some of his visuals/concepts but would nonetheless make Lovecraft himself roll in his grave, you will make me very happy indeed.

I especially love the idea of eldritch horrors with tentacles and inhuman parts who are relatable and 'humanized' by the narrative. I adore narratives where what is unknown, incomprehensible, threatening, and vile to one person is truly safe, beautiful, beloved, and welcoming to another.

I also love horror stories in which mental illness plays a part but in which mental illness is not demonized by the narrative. I DO NOT WANT stories in which mentally ill people are the villains. To give an example of what I do like, I love stories in which a traumatized character is experiencing psychological horror in a situation where they are actually perfectly safe because their trauma has led them to misinterpret cues. That kind of horror, where the reader is meant to view the narrator as both unreliable and sympathetic, is fascinating and deeply compelling to me. To give another example of a horror story where mental illness is involved but not demonized, maybe there's a character who routinely experiences psychosis and has learned to cope with it, so when they start seeing ghosts they assume the ghosts aren't real and are just chill around them, resulting in a peaceable interaction for both the living and dead.

Basically one of the things I find fascinating about horror is how it views the "other". Horror stories in which the "other" is viewed as universally horrifying/negative are exhausting and depressing for me to read. Horror stories in which fear is a difficult but not intolerable emotion, however, and the unknown is explored and made known, are wonderful to me. This includes classic horror tropes like ghosts (maybe the ghosts need someone who will listen without fear in order to be able to pass into true death) and the undead (maybe vampires are just a different species with weird feeding habits) and even body horror (sometimes changes to the body are horrifying because they are new, or because we are unsupported in dealing with them, and that can change with time).

Now to get into my Do Not Wants. I personally have a lot of triggers/squicks around nonconsensual body modification and medical helplessness, so I DO NOT want stories about medical horror, and I especially do not want stories about lobotomy or anything similar. I also do not want stories about how mental health institutions and therapists are a source of horror. I'm well aware of how much trauma can occur there, but I find such narratives deeply distressing and do not want to read them. I also do not like survival horror very much; some people enjoy reading about environments of constant unrelenting stress, but I just find them...stressful. Folk horror is sort of edgy for me, so it's probably best not to start with themes of that sort. Meanwhile, I find violent horror/splatter/killer horror either uninteresting or squicky or both. Mutilation as an onscreen process is gross to me and not something I want to read. The body horror resulting from mutilation, however, and the process of adjustment and acclimation and finding a new 'normal' later on - that is of greater interest to me. Religious horror, meanwhile, is hit and miss for me. Narratives about Satanic cults worshiping evil and doing human sacrifice just don't do much for me. But a story about how a terrified outsider realizes that "Satan" is actually a misunderstood nature deity who treats his followers well - that sort of thing is of much greater interest to me.

I hope this letter has been helpful to you and that you get to write something you enjoy!

comments

NonConathon Exchange letter

Heya writer,

I hope you get to enjoy writing me something horrible!
Summer Heat Exchange Letter

Dear Fic Writer,

I hope you get to write something you're excited about! I hope this letter will help you know more about me so you can create something we'll both really enjoy.

First up, I'll just state: I'm trans. For me, that means I'm sensitive about "male/female" language applied to body parts and traits. Please don't do this in your fic for me.

I also do not want sex work AUs or works which focus upon depiction of sex work.

I also do not want femmephobia/perpetration of toxic masculinity from ‘good’ characters. I don’t want any content in which someone is shamed by a sympathetic character for being too feminine or not manly enough, or in which femininity/feminization is used as a means of degradation. (it’s fine if creeps/non-sympathetic characters do it, though!)

I do not want “no powers AUs”/modern AUs/prosaic AUs like coffee-shop.

I also have preferences about m/f content! I feel upset when I read fics that crap all over female characters and canonical m/f pairings in order to write m/m ships. M/M ships are what I enjoy and want to read, but not at the expense of female characters. If you wanna write one or both of the men in the ship(s) as gay, that's great, but again, not at the expense of female characters or m/f relationships in general.

As for multiships, I love polyamory and nonmonogamy! I don't like cheating and infidelity as a theme, though, so please do not include any element of that. For this exchange in particular, I don't want heat/sex pollen to make characters cheat on existing monogamous relationships, because even having that as the backdrop of a fic is stressful for me to read.

As for content, I like both soft and romantic or smutty and hardcore, and especially fics that are a combination of both. If you wanna write me pure smut, that's cool! But if you want to imagine that heat/sex pollen just makes someone intensely amorous/cuddly or forces them to reveal their true feelings about someone, that's great too. I love everything from hardcore s/m content to soft fic about developing relationships and character growth. If there's a kink you want to write which you're uncertain if I'll like, leave me an anonymous comment to ask about it.

Fallout specific: since this is an exchange about heat/sex pollen, see what you can do with the canonical material! I was imagining an AU in which ghouls and supermutants naturally experience heats of some kind, or in which there's in-universe sex-pollen type effects. For example, maybe gamma radiation makes ghouls and super-mutants feel really good/sexy and that's why they congregate in irradiated places! As for the Porter Gage ship, for that I was imagining use of or exposure to the "persuasion grenades" that Lizzie Wyath created. Maybe Gage or the Sole get exposed to one and Wyath "suggests" that they go fuck each other as a way to create mayhem or sow discord between Gage and the Overboss. Maybe Sole or Gage get exposed to one and have an unusual reaction of getting really horny. However you want to play that is fine, so long as neither Sole nor Gage are intentionally using them on one another as a way to perpetrate sexual violence on purpose. Also, for the Hancock/Danse ship, I ONLY want Danse post-Blind-Betrayal where he knows he is a synth and is trying to accept that he and other "nonhumans" are equally worthy. I don't want hatesex, and I especially do not want any continuation of Danse's "filthy ghoul" mindset toward Hancock.

Witcher specific: I love creature features and monster porn! So if you're writing any of the vampire or non-human characters (including Witchers themselves), feel free to include nonhuman features! For example, if you want to write a fic in which Witchers are the ONLY ones in the world to be A/B/O and everyone else is just normal humans, that'd be a lot of fun. Also please feel free to include nonhuman features like knots, tentacles, oviposition, etc. If you go for oviposition, however, please explain either how the character is gonna cope with the eggs in them, or how they're gonna get the eggs back out. I have a hard time suspending disbelief for something like "and his ass is full of eggs but this somehow doesn't destroy his digestion for months". Specific to my request for Borch/Geralt/Tea/Vea, please do not include any kind of racism or othering toward Tea and Vea, including by the other characters. As I also mentioned in my DNW list on AO3, I do not want to see ANY content about women being penetrated by men. This includes fingering, PIV, women giving blowjobs, or women receiving anal. I'd be delighted if Tea and Vea were involved with each other, or if they're giving handjobs or being present for emotional support, or if they're in love with Borch but not having sex with him, or if they're doing some sort of femdom with Geralt as Borch fucks him. But I am VERY squicked by women being penetrated by men or being submissive with men, so please do not include that in a fic for me.

Thanks fic writer! I hope you get to write something fun.
- Hobbit

comments

Dear fic writer,

I hope you get to write something you're excited about! I hope this letter will help you know more about me so you can create something we'll both really enjoy.

First up, I'll just state: I'm trans. For me, that means I'm really sensitive about "male/female" language applied to body parts and traits. Please don't do this in your fic for me.

Related to this, if you want to write an AU where a character is trans, that's an idea that makes me happy, but I can be sensitive about trans characters written by cis authors, so consider carefully before doing this if you're a cis person yourself, please. And I REALLY do not want tragedy porn about how hard it is to be trans. If you're gonna write trans characters, please give them happy endings and good times. I also don't want stories about trans characters being outed without their consent, misgendered, stereotyped, or otherwise treated poorly.

I also have preferences about m/f content! I feel sad and upset when I read fics that crap all over female characters and canonical m/f pairings in order to write m/m ships. M/M ships are what I enjoy and want to read, but not at the expense of female characters. If you wanna write one or both of the men in the ship(s) as gay, that's great, but again, not at the expense of female characters or m/f relationships in general.

As for multiships, I love polyamory and nonmonogamy! I hate cheating and infidelity as a theme, though, so please do not include that.

For the fandoms where I've requested a bunch of different ships with the same characters (Fallout 4 and Witcher), I'm open to almost any combination of those characters that you feel like writing. So while I requested ships like Geralt/Dettlaff and Eskel/Emhyr, if you feel inspired to write a ship I haven't requested like Emhyr/Dettlaff/Eskel, I'd still be delighted to receive that.

Further notes on the age differences inherent in some of the Fallout ships I've requested: I love reading explorations of how two people responsibly navigate and negotiate a power dynamic like age difference. I don't really like fics in which there's a massive gap in age/maturity/experience and that just goes unaddressed? So if you're writing me a ship with a huge age difference, please either age up the younger person a bit or address it in some way, even if it's only briefly.

As for content, I like both soft and romantic or smutty and hardcore, and especially fics that are a combination of both. If you wanna write me pure smut, that's great, but if you don't like writing smut and just want to write me soft fic about developing relationships and character growth, that's great too. I'm fine with kink content as well, including very "hard" kinks such as needleplay and 24/7 D/s, except for the kinks I stated in my DNWs. If there's a kink you want to write which you're uncertain if I'll like, leave me an anonymous comment to ask about it.

Thanks in advance!
- Hobbit

comments
